The Knee joint is formed by 3 Bones:the femur,
tibia,
and the knee cap (patela). A smooth
lining
called cartilage covers the end of the bones
and prevents them
from rubbing against each
other, allowing for flexible and nearly frictionless
movement.
The head of the femur fits into the acetabulum forming a "ball and socket" joint which allows a wide range of motionin your hip. A smooth lining called cartilage covers the end of the bones
and prevents them from rubbing against
each other.
